How we crystalized headphones for Slovenian Eurovision song contest 2015 representative Maraaya ¨Her
Slovenian Eurovision song competition representatives with very high rated song ¨Here for you¨ visited us by the agreement to make them some headphones with genuine Swarovski Austrian crystals we are working with all the passion and love.
We were very excited and of course, we had quite some responsibilities fort his serious roll. Raay and Marjetka, the duo of Maraaya, brought us five pieces of their headphones. Yea! They desired to crystalize two of them with visible logos and on the rest of three without them. The logos are forbidden on Eurovision song contest stage. They have also asked, to cover two of the earphones with visible logos with more crystals and be more modest with crystal cover by the other three headphones.
Then a colour of the crystals… It would be much easier to cover the headphones in white or any other colour, but all their headphones were black with some silver or white combination. That would be simple, if we would have black Swarovski crystals. Of course, we had plenty of all the others, just black with shine, not. It was easy to cover the white and silver parts, but we had problems getting in time Swarovski black crystals. We had in stock only the one without the shine, and we needed them to shine.
So, we were searching the crystals, being scared, that we will stay without our special glue…Who doesn't have troubles when there is a huge desire to make the best results out of the creativity? Haha…
Finally, Raay and Marjetka came to us at Sunday, 3th of May and we decided on Monday evening, that the first earphones they should get for their Tuesday event they have organized in National Television. Therefore, we had to work fast. The first earphones we made in a real hurry, so we brought them to the event a little late, and not even with dried glue. Anyway, they looked gorgeous on MarjetkaJ And they looked gorgeous themselves as well.
At the beginning Raay and Marjetka wished to cover the headphones as explained, but two days after their visit, on Tuesday 5th of May, when we send them first photo of only partly crystalized first headphones we were making they wrote: AMAZING! Go go go shiny…we love strong shine on headphones and we asked today on national TV if we could have completely crystalized headphones on Gala Eurovision song contest grand opening and they agreed. Maraaya was afraid that for them, this would look to kitschy…
So… we finished the first headphones in complete cover, shiny all over. We took them to Ljubljana on the event and we could see some happy faces after we handed them to Marjetka and Raay. Jet, we were afraid, that if we will cover all the other headphones the same - completely, they will look too shiny. That is why we decided not to do that and to use our taste and crystalize them as we agreed the first day. It was only one more Raay's request – to live headphones tiara free of crystals. We respected that.
After the Tuesdays event Marjetka took of her shoes – the one she intend to have on Eurovision stage, and gave them to us to see if we can repair them with some added crystal cover. The shoes already had some crystals on, but some of them already felt of and unfortunately, most of them lost the shine because of the unknown used glue. We were really trying to do our best, we hope Marjetka likes what we did.
We really wished that the headphones and the stage shoes would be completely finished and dried soon enough and before Wednesday 13th of May when our representatives travel to Vienna, so we started to crystalize them.
You can see the procedure of crystalizing – we had real fun, we were very happy, because we enjoy very much crystalizing items. Wow, this feels so grate! It is not easy, but it is always a challenge!
We love crystals and they make many things looking much better. But it didn't went without problems, so on Saturday, we were in Austria chasing crystals, there was no time to order them over the b2b system. In addition, we were disappointed, because beside crystal colour, maybe crystal moonlight and AB, we couldn't get any other colour so fast as we needed it. Therefore, we decided to change black for dark blue for Raay and volcano for Marjetka.
We had only three days left. We had the shoes and one more headphones to go. And we make it! Yea! Finally, for last headphones, we decided to put on a little part of the headphones the Slovenian flag. We didn't had a chance to consult with Maraaya, because they were very busy with packing and finalizing everything before their living to Vienna. That’s why this crystalizing was completely our decision. As the colours of all crystals were.
